Travel photography for the rest of us
Travel photography for the rest of us
Professional travel photographers live and breathe photography as they carry out commissioned or personal projects while traveling. Up before dawn for the sunrise shots; interior work midday or scouting for locations; sunset shots during the golden hour; night light work post-dusk; and maybe even astro-photography at night. Plus editing, making detailed notes as to location and subjects; filing any model or building releases; and planning for the next day. Several travel photographers that I've spoken with actually say that they don't take their main camera gear with them on family trips; otherwise they would feel compelled to "work" rather than spend family time.
